DATA ANALYTICS FOR
HR FUNCTION
Over the past few years, organizations have been heavily focusing on harnessing the power of data analytics to gain a competitive advantage over their competitors. Data Analytics is being applied to a wide range of business challenges. Companies are realizing the potential capabilities of embedding data analytics into human resource functions while leading organizations are already exploiting People Analytics to their competitive advantage with recruitment holding the number one focus, followed by performance measurement and compensation. The ability to use people data, derive insights from it, and help influence decisions has become an integral part of the HR function. Data Analytics is helping companies to track absenteeism, turnover, burnout, performance and much more. Data and Analytics are now critical in shaping and intelligently managing the workforce of the future.
PEOPLE ANALYTICS IN PHILIPPINES
People Analytics is a term used to describe the use of people-data in analytical processes to solve companies’ human capital problems. People Analytics uses quantitative and qualitative forms of HR data to empower HR practitioners to gain insights into their workforce and intelligently manage the workforce through the use of data. People Analytics is a rapidly growing discipline that continues to gain considerable traction, but our research has shown that companies in southeast Asia - which are connecting HR data to business outcomes and performing predictive analytics - are considerably lower than other regions except for very few Asian countries such as Hong Kong, India, and Singapore. The Philippines is the 2nd most populous nation in Southeast Asia. The latest data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) shows that nearly 44 million Filipinos are in the labor force with an estimated 94.6 percent of employment rate. The sheer size of the employment number and also recent developments in the technology arena in the Philippines creates a perfect base for the advancement of People Analytics adoption in the country.
